Sally J. Jallo, age 68, resident of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Michigan, ND, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at her home in Grand Forks surrounded by her loving family.

Sally J. Jallo, age 68, resident of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Michigan, ND, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at her home in Grand Forks surrounded by her loving family.

Sally J. Lovejoy was born January 12, 1942 at Lakota, ND, the daughter of Sanford and Esther (Olson) Lovejoy. She was baptized and confirmed at the Finnish Lutheran Church at Pelto, ND. She attended elementary school at Pelto before moving to Michigan, ND with her family. She continued her education there, graduating from Michigan High School in 1962. She worked for a time at Michigan Implement. Sally married Gene Jallo on May 9, 1969 at Niagara, ND. The made their home in Michigan, where Sally operated a day care from her home. She was "Mom" and "Grandma" to many children in the area. She had a strong faith and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, where she also taught Sunday School. She was also a 40 year member and Past President of American Legion Auxiliary at Michigan. Gene died July 11, 1987. She continued living in Michigan until the Fall of 2007 when she moved to the care center in McVille, ND. She moved to Grand Forks in October of 2008. Sally was an avid reader, loved doing crossword puzzles, and refinishing furniture. Her favorite activity was spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She was a strong, courageous, and humble woman, that loved socializing with other people.

Sally will be greatly missed by her 3 daughters, Dawn Grohs of Grand Forks, Denise Anderson of Grand Forks, and Stacy (Larry) Baker of Sioux City, IA; 4 step-sons, Dale (Kelly) Jallo of Grand Forks, Larry Jallo of Grand Forks, Todd Falos of Hawaii, and Troy (Krista) Falos of Minneapolis, MN; her special friend, Ron Anderson of Crary, ND; 12 grandchildren; 1 brother, Steven (Carol) Lovejoy of Argusville, ND; 1 sister, Sandy (Norman) Pederson of Pekin, ND; sister-in-law, Linda Walish of Monticello, MN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene; brother, Robert Lovejoy.

Sally's Funeral Service will be held at the Michigan Lutheran Church, Michigan, ND, on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.

Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota on Sunday, February 14th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will continue at the church on Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Interment will be in the Spring at the Enterprise Cemetery, rural Brocket, ND.

My condolences to all of ya'all. Sally was a great lady! Glad I got to see her in MIchigan at the big celebration. She always had a smile and laugh for you.I know she will be dearly missed by her family Jane Berdahl Schneider

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Jallo Family. I only knew Sally for a few years, but she was a great lady. I know she will be missed dearly. Jamie Partlow East Grand Forks
