Lois Confer, 90, of Crookston, formerly of Angus, MN, passed away on Sunday evening, February 7, 2010 at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN.

Lois Confer, 90, of Crookston, formerly of Angus, MN, passed away on Sunday evening, February 7, 2010 at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN.

Lois Marie Rasmussen was born on May 17, 1919 in Hinsdale, MT, the daughter of Frank and Hazel Rasmussen. When Lois was three, her mother died during childbirth. At the age of four, she moved along with her brother to the Jens and Anna Rasmussen farm in rural Fisher, MN where she was raised by Stella and Charles Viet. Lois graduated from Crookston High School and also attended Aakers Business School.

She married Charles Confer on December 8, 1940. They made their home in Brandt Township, Polk County, MN (Angus) where they farmed. Lois worked as a bookkeeper for American Crystal Sugar, Barlow Furniture Company and Marshall Polk Rural Water. Charles died on December 2, 1978. She moved to Crookston in 2006.

She was a member of the Melo Lutheran Church. Lois also was a foster grandparent at the Warren Elementary Public School and use to donate to the Humane Society.

Lois was an avid reader who enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing whist, doing crafts and spending winters with Nancy in Arizona.

Left to mourn her passing are four children, Nancy Confer of Crookston, MN, Kathy (Chuck) Steer of Angus, MN, Richard (Gail) Confer of Grand Forks, ND and Sharron (Max) Morden of Tecumseh, MI; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and her beloved schnauzer, Mr. Magoo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; brother, Claude Rasmussen and an infant granddaughter.

Service: 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2010 at DuBore Funeral Home in Warren, MN.

Interment: Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN.

Sharron: I was sorry to see that your mom passed away. it does look like she lived a full life but I am sure she will be missed.
