Juliet Palm, 95, Cummings, ND, died Saturday, January 9, 2010, at the Halstad (MN) Living Center.
Juliet Aslakson was born June 2, 1914, at Aneta, ND, the daughter of Harris and Clara (Olson) Aslakson. She attended rural elementary school and graduated from Cooperstown (ND) High School. She moved to Crookston, MN, and worked in retail and later was hired to work on the Palm Farm near Cummings, ND.
She was united in marriage to Edwin Palm on November 21, 1937, at Aneta. They made their home on the farm where she lived until moving to the Halstad Living Center in 2006. Juliet helped out in the fields farming and raised her four children. She enjoyed family times together, gathering for holidays and family times at Lake Sarah. She also enjoyed quilting and sewing, crafting, puzzles, and listening to the radio. Edwin died in 1982.
Juliet is survived by two sons, Duane Palm of Crookston, MN, David (Lana) Palm of Cummings, ND, two daughters, Shyla Peterson, East Grand Forks, MN, and Bonnie (Arlen) Oanes, Halstad, MN, two sisters, Myrtle Stokkeland and Syvilia Sutton, both of Cooperstown, ND, ten grandchildren, Jeff (Lisa) Peterson, Kyle (Lori) Peterson, Deb (Todd) Callander, Darin (Wendy) Oanes, Denae (Kevin) Wiley, Chad (Diane) Palm, Ryan (Heather) Palm, Travis Palm, Shana (Matt) Williams, and Erin Palm, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son-in-law, Roger Peterson, daughter-in-law, Kathlyn Palm, five sisters, Ovidia Quanbeck, Hazel Birkeland, Lenora Bratager, Marian Askelson, and Helen Lillioien, and one brother Norman Aslakson.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Salem Lutheran Church, rural Cummings, ND, with visitation one hour prior.
Burial: Salem Lutheran Cemetery, rural Cummings, ND.
