Lois Swanson
Lois Swanson, 81, of Warren, MN, passed away on Monday morning, Jan. 4, 2010 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Lois Blanche Palmer was born on Dec. 11, 1928 in Warren, the daughter of Lonnie and Minnie (Yuergens) Palmer. She attended Warren High School and Watertown Beauty Academy in Watertown, SD. She was employed at Modern Beauty Shop and later at Nelson Motor Company in Warren as a bookkeeper. On Oct. 14, 1950, she was united in marriage to Robert Swanson. They lived on the family farm near Radium, MN until 1993 when they retired and moved to Warren.
She was a life member of the Grace United Methodist Church where she served on the board of U.M.W. and Priscilla Circle, a member of the Warren American Legion Auxiliary and a Gold Star Sister.
Lois loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed years of family fishing trips to Lake of the Woods, vacation trips to the Black Hills in South Dakota and family visits to California and Illinois. She also liked taking trips to Branson, MO and Medora, ND. Her biggest joy was watching her grandchildren participate in all school activities. Like most family matriarchs, she was a tremendous cook with fried chicken and rhubarb pie among her top culinary delights.

We were so sad to hear of the passing of Lois. Lori, I remember your mom as being such a sweet lady, always happy to have your friends around when we were teens. She also was such a good neighbor to aunt Doris and Glenn. They spoke very highly of her and your dad. She will certainly be missed by the close community of Warren. You have our deepest sympathy. It is so difficult to lose a parent. Love, Junelle & Jim Beito, St. Cloud,MNSaint Cloud, MN 01/07/2010 7:20 PM
