John E. 'Jack' Driscoll

John E. 'Jack' Driscoll, 90 of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

John Eugene Driscoll was born on December 30, 1918 in Grand Forks, ND the son of James and Annie (Sullivan) Driscoll. Jack grew up in rural East Grand Forks, MN and attended school at Sacred Heart High School graduating on June 11, 1937.

Jack was united in marriage to Verda M. Bohlman on November 24, 1941 in Thompson, ND. Jack farmed his entire life in the East Grand Forks, MN area. He was a Polk County Commissioner from 1972 to 1984. For many years Jack and Verda spent the winters in Mesa, AZ.

Family members who survive Jack include his children: Judy (Dale) Neppel of East Grand Forks, MN, Paul (Barb) Driscoll of East Grand Forks, MN, Doug (Cathy) Driscoll of Hudson, WI and Daniel (Donna) Driscoll of East Grand Forks, MN; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, one sister: Frances Weber, living in New York.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Verda on January 3rd, 1998; brothers: James, Leonard and Charles Driscoll; sisters: Edna Harvey, Alda Mongoven, Mary King, Louise Stowe and Lillian Bushaw.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Elks, Eagles #350, the Red River Valley Potato Growers Association and the Red River Valley Beet Growers Association.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials are preferred.

Mass of Christian Burial: 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2009 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 3rd St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN

Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 with a 7:00 Prayer Service on Friday, December 18, 2009 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church of East Grand Forks, MN and one hour before the Funeral Service at the church on Saturday.

Interment: Calvary Cemetery ~ Grand Forks, ND in the spring.
