Victor L. Lorenz, age 92, of Langdon, ND, passed away on December 8, 2009 at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon, ND.

Victor was born in Nekoma, ND on November 12, 1917 to Joseph and Anna (Wilhelmi) Lorenz. He attended school in Nekoma, graduating in 1935. Following graduation he moved to Flint, MI, where he worked for Precision Parts, and later moved to Denver, CO, where he was employed by Gates Rubber Company.

On June 5, 1941, Victor married Svanfridur (Lolo) Thomason in St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Nekoma, ND. They lived in Denver until the spring of 1942 when they returned to Nekoma to the family farm. In 1966 they moved to Langdon, but Victor continued farming until 1979. They enjoyed 29 winters in Mesa, AZ, but always looked forward to their return to Cavalier County in the spring. Victor and Lolo moved to Wheatland Estates in May, 2006, and then to Maple Manor Care Center in January 2009.

Victor was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He served on the Nekoma School Board, Nekoma Farmers Union Board of Directors, and Brentwood West Homeowners Association Board in Mesa, AZ. He was a very kind, gentle, fun loving man who had a strong faith in God and was always ready to help a friend in need.

He is survived by his wife Lolo, and children Gerald (Yvonne) Lorenz of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Vickie (James) Theis of Carmel, IN, Thomas Lorenz of Las Vegas, NV, Micheal (Jill) Lorenz of Henderson, NV; eight Grandchildren, Anthony and Mark Lorenz of Bellingham, WA, Adam Lorenz of Arlington, MA, Max and Nick Lorenz of Los Vegas, NV, Michelle Theis of Chicago, IL, John Theis of Pasadena, CA, and Stephanie Theis of Indianapolis, IN, and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters: Lillian (Mrs. Jack Platz), Loretta (Mrs. Edward Gellner), Anna (Mrs. Orris Forde) , Agnes (Mrs. Mal Shude) Minnie (Mrs. Oliver Wieneke) and two infant brothers.

Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. with a 5 p.m. prayers service on Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND. Visitation will also take place for one hour before the time of the services at the church on Saturday.

Services: Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.
