Bernice G. Olson, 89, Grand Forks, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 in Valley Memorial Homes Eldercare Center, Grand Forks.

Bernice G. Larson was born to Edwin and Tillie (Olson) Larson on November 6, 1920 at Northwood, North Dakota. She attended school in Northwood, and Grand Forks.

Bernice and Carl N. Olson were united in marriage on June 29, 1946 in Grand Forks. Mr. Olson died October 14, 2008.

Bernice was employed for many years as a school lunch program aide at Ben Franklin Elementary School.

She enjoyed crochet, the daily crossword puzzle, and cards. Bernice and Carl enjoyed traveling together in their retirement, and looked forward to many fishing trips with friends.

Bernice is survived by his daughter, Linda (Michael) Quamme; son, Brian Olson (special friend, Linda Arter), Sioux Falls, South Dakota; grandchildren, Scott (Diana) McLean, Shanynn McLean, and Shelby McLean; great-grandchildren, Cody, Brooks, and Skyler McLean; and a step-great grandchild, Denali Peterson; her sister, Olive Olson, Grand Forks; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Myrtis; her husband, Carl.

Services: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2009 in United Lutheran Church Chapel, 324 Chestnut St., Grand Forks.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the church.

Interment: will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks.
