Mylo was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Karlstad, served as President of the Grain Millers Union at American Crystal Sugar for many years, was supervisor of the Pelan Township Board, the Pelan Township Fire Warden, and a member of the Karlstad American Legion.

Mylo loved watching his grandchildren in the events they participated in. He was at as many events as possible. Mylo enjoyed taking his family camping and fishing as they were growing up. He was an avid hunter who enjoyed deer hunting with his children, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. Mylo and June enjoyed traveling and living in Arizona during the winter months.
