Ione J. McIntyre, 86, of Grand Forks, ND died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in Altru Hospital.

Ione Jeanette Aure was born November 28, 1922 in Alvarado, MN the daughter of Ole and Hilda (Berg) Aure. She grew up and attended school in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School. Ione attended Union Commercial College.

She married James McIntyre on January 23, 1946 in Grand Forks, ND. Ione worked as a bookkeeper for the State Mill and the American Bottling Co. in Grand Forks until retirement. Ione was an active lifelong member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. She had many hobbies including gardening, TOPS, bird watching, reading , Bingo, singing with the Parkwood Choir and especially attending her grandchildren’s events.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Ione is survived by: Sons: Jim (Peggy) McIntyre, Grand Forks, Jerry (Karen) McIntyre, Grand Forks, Larry (Patty) McIntyre, Grand Forks, Daughters: Patricia McIntyre, Bemidji, MN, Kathy McIntyre (Gordy Graetz), Arvilla, ND, Grandchildren: Zachary Bailey, Adam (Natalie) McIntyre, Tyler Bailey, Jason (Emily) McIntyre, Sara (Ryan) Rogalla, Keelan Bailey, Angela (Kevin) Gietzen, Jessica Morgan, Anna McIntyre, Joshua (Kristen) Huot, Jordan McIntyre, Jacob McIntyre, Brandon Huot, Joe McIntyre, Dustin Graetz, Tyler Graetz and Cody Graetz. Great Grandchildren: A. J. and Johnny Rogalla; Lauren Gietzen; and Kierra Morgan. Sisters-in-law: Dorothy Perkl and Bev Aure. Several Nieces and Nephews. Special Friend : Donna Partlow, Grand Forks.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents; a granddaughter, Shannon Bailey; brothers, Richard and Donald; and sister, Lylah Rossi.

Funeral Services will be on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Augustana Lutheran Church, 520 University Ave., Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation will be for the hour prior to the service in the church.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.
