Doranna Y. Gratton, 94, of Walhalla, ND died Monday, September 28, 2009, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND.
Doranna Yvonne Benoit was born to Philias and Malvina (Marcotte) Benoit on August 25, 1915, on a farm near Olga, ND. On August 5, 1940, she married Andre Vincent “Buster” Gratton at Walhalla, ND. They made their home in Walhalla. To this union were born Laurel, Morris, Mary, and Dennis.
She is survived by her children, Laurel (Allan) Smith, Walhalla, Mary (Manferd) Mostad, Fargo, ND, and Dennis (Barb) Gratton, Walhalla; daughter-in-law, Colleen Gratton, Walhalla; grandchildren, Terri (David) Hennessy, Plano, TX, Tim (Karen) Smith, Walhalla, Anne (Pat) Steffen, Appleton, WI, Mark Mostad, St. Louis Park, MN, Matthew (Katie) Mostad, Luverne, MN, Janna (Curtiss) Lenz, Madison, WI, Susan (Mike) Karel, Walhalla, Kelsie Gratton, Goodhue, MN, Nick Gratton, Walhalla, and Alysia Gratton, Fargo, ND; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Therese Charrier, Walhalla and Marie Gratton, Langdon, ND.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Andre; son, Morris; sister, Clarinda Morin, and brother, Richard Benoit.
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Thomas Krupich.
Casket Bearers: David Hennessy, Tim Smith, Pat Steffen, Mark Mostad, Matthew Mostad, Curtiss Lenz, Michael Karel and Nick Gratton.
Music: LaRae Horgan, Soloist and Bernadine Kopf, Organist.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 2, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 1st from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services.
Burial in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
