Leona E. Ebertowski, 86, of Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, September 6, 2009 in Altru Hospital.

Born in Minto in 1922, she was the second child of ten children. She worked at the Bronze Boot restaurant, Whitey’s, and the Ryan Hotel. Her favorite pastime was to cook and bake for her children and grandchildren. Hobbies were canning, playing cards, attending to her flowers and garden.

She will be missed by her family and friends.

Leona is survived by: Children: Phyllis Meyer (special friend David), Gary Ebertowski (Sandy), Judy Groh (Richard), Jane Olson (Rodney), Joan Chromy; grandchildren: Patricia Shea, Michele Meyer, Derek Ebertowski, Britt Lindquist, Jason Geer, Mellisa Moorman, Jeremy Olson, Tessa Olson, Shanna Lamere, Justin Chromy, Joshua Chromy, Jarret Chromy; great grandchildren: Reyna Lindquist, Audrey Lindquist, Bradley Shea, Sara Shea, Taylor Ebertowski, Casey Ebertowski, Madison Geer, Alexandra Geer, Oliva Moorman, Karly Lamere, Kellen Lamere; Brothers and sisters: Isabell Rasmussen, Henrietta Gerszewski, Dorothy Miller, Clarion Kowalski, Francis Kowalski, Dennis Kowalski, James Kowalski.

Preceded in death by husband Daniel R. Ebertowski and daughter June Paulson, son in law Jim Paulson and son in law Kenneth Meyer, parents, Leo and Emilia Kowalski, sisters, Sophie Grzadzieleski, Ernestine Crafton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 524 5th Ave. North, Grand Forks.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a wake service at 7 p.m. in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St., Grand Forks.

Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Minto, ND.
