Wallace F. “Wally” LaMoine, 87 of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Friday, September 4th, 2009 at the Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks, ND.
Wallace Francis LaMoine was born September 5, 1921 the son of John Michel and Cecilia (Burton) LaMoine in Grand Forks, ND. He grew up in East Grand Forks, MN and attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. He married Henrietta E. Moleski on June 21, 1948 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks, MN. He served in the CCC’s and the US Army Medical Corp in World War II as a cook. He worked for the Great Northern Railroad and the American Crystal Sugar Company until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church as well as the choir and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening and dancing.
Wallace is survived by his sons: Father Gary LaMoine of Barnesville, MN, Ronald LaMoine and Jim (Rita) LaMoine of East Grand Forks, MN; his daughters: Diane Minchinton of Minneapolis, MN and Lori Masserelli of East Grand Forks, MN; grandchildren: Katie Minchinton, Kerry Minchinton, Amber (Josh) Blair, Kaylee LaMoine and Jason LaMoine.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Henrietta (Hank) on June 19, 1997; sisters: Flora Mair, Obie Ench, Regina Vigen, Mary Hurst, Louise Couch, Dorothy Poole, Maybelle Burwell and Mina Ruddy; brothers: Clarence, Dennis and William LaMoine.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Schools.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 3rd St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN
Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service on Monday, September 7, 2009 in Stennes Funeral Home of East Grand Forks, MN
Interment: Resurrection Cemetery ~ East Grand Forks, MN
