Karol Jane (Keisacker) Utt, 64, Casselton, ND, died peacefully in her home on Tuesday, June 30, 2009.

Karol was born on January 9, 1945 in Lakota, ND to Kenneth and Lenora (Urvand) Keisacker. She graduated from Lakota High School in 1963. On January 22, 1966, Karol was united in marriage to Michael Utt in Valley City, ND. They were blessed with three daughters and one son.

They lived in Valley City from 1966 - 1968, where Karol provided childcare and worked as a desk clerk at the Rudolf Hotel. They moved to Escanaba, MI in 1968. Karol was a homemaker and waitress during those years in Michigan.

In 1980, the family moved to Casselton, where she worked at the Red Owl - Super Valu and later as a custodian at Central Cass School and Casselton City Hall. Karol retired from school in January, 2009.

Some of Karol's favorite activities included golfing, playing bingo, watching birds and puttering in her garden. More than anything she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, for they are who brought true joy to her heart.

Karol will be dearly missed by her husband, Mike, Casselton, ND; daughter, Kim (David) Giermann, Casselton, ND; daughter, Kelley Utt, Valley City, ND; son, Tim (Pam) Utt, Casselton, ND; daughter, Kalyn (Chris) Botz, Valley City, ND; as well as her seven grandchildren: Kyle, Bryce and Jacob Giermann; Michael and Christopher Utt; Hayden and Brooklyn Botz; three sisters: Dorothy (Ken) Evenson, Valley City, ND; Vonnie Berglund, Grand Forks, ND and Judy (Richard) Balek, Lawton, ND.

Karol was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Lenora Keisacker; brothers: Alan and Dale Keisacker; brother-in-law, Wally Berglund and mother-in-law, Marianne Utt.

Funeral Service: Monday, July 6, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Leo's Catholic Church, Casselton, ND.

Visitation: Sunday, July 5, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in St. Leo's Catholic Church, Casselton, ND. and one hour before the service in the church.

Burial: St. Leo's Cemetery, Casselton, ND.
