JoAnn Ivey

JoAnn Ivey, 70, passed way on Friday, June 12th, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Larimore, ND.

JoAnn Kay Meagher was born on June 21, 1938 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Thomas and Evelyn (Johnson) Meagher. Joann grew up and attended school in East Grand Forks, MN graduating with the Class of 1956. On May 2, 1959 she was united in marriage to Roland Ivey in Riverside, CA. Joann was employed with Bell Telephone Company in Riverside, CA. In 1965 they moved to East Grand Forks, MN where she was employed with American Crystal Sugar Company.

JoAnn loved to read, play bingo and especially stay up late playing 6-5-4 with her granddaughters. She loved being surrounded by family, friends and talking for hours on end. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Family members who survive JoAnn include her husband Roland Ivey of East Grand Forks, MN; children: Mike (Ludy) Ivey and Gayle (David) Brungardt both of Grand Forks, ND; two sisters: Shirley (Robert) Bennett of Clay Center, NE and Colleen (Marvin) Omlid of Thompson, ND and one brother: Thomas Meagher of Albany, OR; granddaughters: Kristina (Kenny) Lothspeich of West Fargo, ND, Jennifer (Greg) Holt of Windham, NH, Samantha Baldridge of Grand Forks, ND, Laryssa, Laurel Ivey of Everett, WA, Angelica, Philicia and Teresa Ivey of Grand Forks, ND; one great-granddaughter Melissa Holt of Windham, NH and many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding Joann in death are her parents and a son Patrick Ivey on June 26th, 2006

Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1515 5th Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN

Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 with a 6:30 p.m. Prayer Service on Monday, June 15, 2009 in Stennes Funeral Home of East Grand Forks, MN

Interment: Resurrection Cemetery - East Grand Forks, MN
