Carrie R. Schwartz, 97, Grand Forks, ND passed away Friday, March 27, 2009 in St. Mary's Regional Health Center, Detroit Lakes, MN.

Carrie Rose Metzger was born October 31, 1911 the daughter of Mathew and Clara (Diekman) Metzger in Mt. Carmel. She married Leo A. Schwartz on May 3, 1938 in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Langdon, ND. They lived in the Langdon area until moving to Grand Forks, ND in 1942. Leo preceded her in death on November 2, 1978. Carrie continued to live in her home until moving to St. Anne's Guest Home in 2002.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Kay Schwartz - Hjelmstad, Murietta, CA; sons, Ronald, Hartford, IA and William "Bill", Detroit Lakes, MN; 9 grandchildren; ? great grandchildren; a sister, Verna Dumas, Grand Forks, ND; brothers, Judd (Barbara), Bremerton, WA and Larry (Rose), Grand Forks, ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; a granddaughter, Jeri Schwartz; her parents; sisters, Aurelia, Lyda, a twin sister, Clara, Irene, Lillian and Patricia.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2009 in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation: 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday with a 3:00 p.m. vigil service and a 12:30 p.m. rosary service in Gregory J. Norman - Norman Funeral Home, S. Washington St. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Monday.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND, in the spring.

Jack M Bill Ron Family's Sorry to read of your Mom passing she will be in our prayers. I will Let our family know, most of us knew your mom from Cottonwood st and North 5th st. Jack and the McCann boys & girls.
