John Raymond Capes, 49, of Vancouver, Washington, died March 7, 2009 as a result of a motor vehicle accident near Lonerock, Oregon.

John Raymond Capes, 49, of Vancouver, Washington, died March 7, 2009 as a result of a motor vehicle accident near Lonerock, Oregon.

He was born November 2, 1959 at Grand Forks, North Dakota, the son of Bob and Mary Hart Capes. He graduated from Central High School at Grand Forks. In 1980 he moved to the Portland, Oregon area. Mr. Capes was married to Aletta Beebe for 30 years and the couple has two children. He was carpenter by trade.

He is survived by his wife at home in Vancouver, son; Jonathan Tyler Capes, daughter; Emily Ann Capes, brothers; Jim Capes and Thomas Capes, sisters; Rosemary, Laurie, and Roberta, his parents Bob and Mary Capes and a grandson, Nathanial.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Capes was held March 11, 2009 at the Lonerock Community Hall, at Lonerock, Oregon.

Sweeney Mortuary of Condon is in charge of arrangements.

You were the best Grandpa I could have ever ask for. I am so grateful that you got to hold me and rock me in you warm and loving arms. I will cherish those moments for a lifetime. Love your fish'n buddy -Nathaniel-
