Amelia C. Krom, 76, Grand Forks, ND died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Amelia Cecelia Wilkie was born April 19, 1932 the daughter of Joseph F. and Elise (Gromboise) Wilkie in Belcourt, ND. Amelia married David Krom on December 16, 1965 in Grand Forks. Following their marriage they resided in Grand Forks.

Amelia was a fun-loving person who liked to laugh and have fun. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In her free time she liked to play bingo and spend time outside during the summer with her dogs. She was truly an inspiration to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was survived by her children, Beverly (Duane) Kuntz, Willmar, MN, Harold Wilkie Jr., Grand Forks, ND, Lori Krom, Grand Forks, ND, Darla Krom, Des Moines, IA; a sister, MaryAnn Wenz, Williston, ND; brothers, Steven Wilkie, Irrigon, OR, Harold Wilkie Sr., Belcourt, ND and Clarence Wilkie, Belcourt, ND; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 5 brothers; 4 sisters; a daughter, and a son.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009 in Gregory J. Norman - Norman Funeral Home, 2950 S. Washington St., Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service in the funeral home. Visitation will continue for one hour before services on Friday.

Burial: Memorial Park South, Grand Forks, ND in the spring.

My heart and prayers go out to Amelia's family in this time. I worked with her at Associated Potato Growers and know her to be kind, fun-loving and thoughtful, and often the center of attention. She brightened the room with her smile and laughter, and she will be sorely missed.
