Flora was born in Brownsville, TX, on November 10, 1917, the daughter of Jose and Rita (Mora) Lerma. Flora married Manuel DeLaGarza at Brownsville on October 8, 1937. The couple first lived in Port Isabel, Texas and later in Brownsville. In the winter of 1954 they moved to Nielsville.

Flora loved flowers and all things in nature. Her favorite pastimes included watching the Animal Planet channel on TV, and playing bingo. Flora's greatest joy was the visits from her family, including all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a quiet lady, with a big smile for everyone and a great sense of humor. Flora will be greatly missed by all whose hearts she touched.
Family members include four children, Manuel (Hope) DeLaGarza of Climax, MN, Ciro (Betty) DeLaGarza of Halstad, MN, Oralia "LaLa" (Robert) Garza of Austin, IN, and Lonny DeLaGarza of Nielsville, MN; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives. Besides her husband, Manuel; Flora was preceded in death by her parents; and three children, Isreal, Joe, and Trina.

Interment will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery at Georgetown, Minnesota in the spring.
