Darlene Anderson-Koplin
Darlene was born February 5, 1937 to Chester and Florence (Chapman) Bakke on her family farm near Emerado, ND. Darlene attended grade school at a country school near her home and high school in Larimore, graduating in 1955. On November 23, 1957, she married Gerald Anderson at the Washington Lutheran Church at Northwood, ND. The couple lived and farmed near Larimore. Gerald passed away on February 19, 1983. She married James Koplin on June 19, 1998. They made their home near Larimore. Jim passed away December 9, 2012.

Ione Marlene Ferencik was born August 29, 1934 in Tabor, MN the daughter of Andrew M. and Nora (Gorsuch) Ferencik. She grew up in East Grand Forks and graduated from East Grand Forks High School. On August 19, 1953, Ione married Richard J. Wald. The couple had two children. Ione spent many years a dental assistant followed by many years working in customer service. She and, her husband, Dick were involved in many service organizations as well as Dick’s catering business. Following the flood in 1997, Ione moved to Austin, MN to be near her children and grandchildren. An avid reader, Ione enjoyed spending time with her family.

Joshua Taylor Berggren
Josh was born April 10, 1990 in Grand Forks, ND to Jerry and Sandy Berggren. He grew up in East Grand Forks, MN and graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High in 2008. While in high school he participated in tennis, track, pop singers, theatre, was a member of the Speech Team and National Forensics League. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America, earning the rank of ‘Eagle Scout’ in 2008. He attended Minnesota State University-Moorhead majoring in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Photo Journalism. In the fall of 2008, while attending college, he joined the Army National Guard, completing his basic training and Advanced Individual Training (A.I.T.) at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Thereafter he proudly served with the Cavalry Scouts unit based out of Fergus Falls, MN. Josh graduated with honors from MSUM on May 17, 2013.

Virginia was born May 16, 1927 near Brocket, ND. She married John Staver on June 1, 1944 in Devils Lake, ND. Together they farmed the Staver family farm near Lawton for many years. John died June 12, 2002.

Dennis Lamarr Dagen
In February 1967, Dennis joined the Roseau County Sheriff’s Department as Deputy in Warroad, MN. Many people in the community can attest that he fairly and efficiently enforced the law. Also, he became an avid golfer and enjoyed his time on the course with his sons and the “Rat Pack”. He retired as Deputy in February 1984.
