Geanna, 8, is the first baby born to woman living in St. Gianna’s Maternity Home
Geanna, 8, is the first baby born to woman living in St. Gianna’s Maternity Home in Warsaw, N.D., which is marking the 10th anniversary of its founding today with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. and program at 2 p.m.
Geanna’s mother named her – with a variant spelling - after the Home’s namesake, seen in the statue here. Gianna Beretta Molla was an Italian pediatrician made a Catholic saint in 2004 because her 1962 death is seen as her sacrifice so her fourth child could be born safely. The Home’s 84th baby was born Aug. 4, said founder Mary Pat Jahner. photo by Eric Hylden/Grand Forks Herald
