Paddlefish snagging season is offered every spring

It's as much a social occasion as a fishing excursion, but the paddlefish snagging season offered every spring near the confluence of the Missouri and Yellowstone rivers in northwest North Dakota offers participants the opportunity to tangle with fish weighing 100 pounds or more. Open to snaggers with a valid tag, the paddlefish season opens May 1. (N.D. Game and Fish Department photo)
