Brett Wojack, 13 (left), of Big Lake, Minn., and Stuart Bensen of Erskine, Minn., didn't field-dress a deer Saturday morning, but they still had plenty of reason to smile after leaving the comfort of Bensen's deluxe heated stand. Bensen, a recently retired conservation officer, wasn't working the deer opener for the first time in more than 30 years, and Wojack had a good look at three whitetail bucks from the window of the stand but didn't have enough time to pull the trigger.
