Shooting leads to I-394 disruption in Twin Cities
Interstate 394 eastbound west of Minneapolis was down to one lane and westbound 394 was closed due to the shooting on 394 eastbound on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011. Officials say a Golden Valley, Minn., police officer shot and killed a woman along a busy stretch of Interstate 394 in the suburbs west of Minneapolis. The Golden Valley Police Department says the officer was trying to stop a vehicle on the freeway just after 1 p.m. Thursday. The woman, who was driving alone, eventually pulled over. Police say the woman had a handgun and was fatally shot by the officer. The officer was not hurt and will be placed on temporary administrative leave. (AP Photo/The Star Tribune, Bruce Bisping)
