Oak tree destroys part of Virginia house

Joe DeLoria checks out a ceramic piggy bank that he recovered from the bedroom of his 8-year-old son, Evan, where a giant oak tree crashed through Saturday afternoon in Bon Air, Va. when Hurricane Irene passed through the area. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011. The tree bisected a large portion of the Bon Air house, including DeLoria's bedroom. His wife, Amy, was in the basement when the tree hit, but had been napping there up until about two minutes before the tree fell. DeLoria and his children were in their neighbor's basement. The DeLorias are staying in a local hotel. (AP Photo/Richmond Times-Dispatch, P. Kevin Morley)
