Heidi Hughes is the new manager of the Agassiz Audubon Society’s nature center southeast of Warren, Minn. A New Jersey native, Hughes brings an extensive background in marketing and nature tourism to the position. Her goal, she said, is to develop the site into a place where people can feel comfortable going out to discover nature on their own terms. Formerly known as the Wetlands, Pines and Prairie Audubon Sanctuary, the site is undergoing a rebranding that includes a new name, which will be announced Aug. 21 during the Agassiz Audubon Society’s annual meeting.
