Big Bog Visitor Center:
The new 3,000-square-foot visitor center at Big Bog State Recreation Area near Waskish, Minn., in Beltrami County officially opened Saturday, June 11, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a full schedule of open house events. Construction on the new visitor center began last June, and the 100-foot fire tower behind the facility has been restored and is open for tours. The new visitor center features an interpretive classroom area, gift store, office space and self-registration station.
