Jon Brovold

Jon Brovold, fired this fall as manager of Clearwater Health Services, asked Clearwater County Commissioners Tuesday if they knew exactly how much debt CHS had run up in recent months. Brovold has said the county commissioners haven't done enough "due diligence" in making a deal with Cocoon Holdings of Grand Forks to buy the county-owned hospital, clinics and ambulance service. The all-day meetings of the commission and CHS board led to a 30-day extension given to Cocoon to come up with the money for a balloon payment and debt totalling about $3.7 million on a contract for deed.
