Illinois River silver carp jump out of the water during an electrofishing excursion by a group of ecologists from the Illinois Natural History Survey. Silver Carp are one of five varieties of Asian carp found in the United States. Conservationists warn that the Asian carp could take over most lakes and streams in Minnesota without federal government intervention.
