Showy splendor: Jim Sethre, Newfolden, Minn., photographed these pink lady slippers this week in New Maine Township in Marshall County near Newfolden. Also known as the showy lady slipper, the pink lady slipper is Minnesota’s state flower and is one of 43 orchid species to grow in the state, according to the Department of Natural Resources.
