Boat ramp

First boat ramp opens:
The water’s been slow to fall this spring on the Red and Red Lake Rivers, but the boat ramp on the Red Lake River in East Grand Forks opened this past week and is ready for use. According to Gladwin Lynne, manager of the Red River State Recreation Area, crews still need to do some clean-up work at the site and grade the parking lot, so people should use caution when launching and boating. The Red River went below flood stage Thursday, so if conditions continue to improve, the river’s three ramps should be open before too long. (Brad Dokken photo)
