Lavonne, The daughter of Kermit and Evelyn (Sveen) Hovet was born May 9, 1939 at Deaconess Hospital, and was raised here in Grand Forks, ND. She graduated from Central High School in May of 1957, went on to attend the UND, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Mathematics, Accounting, and Statistics, later earning her Master’s Degree in Teaching. Lavonne worked as a teacher, accountant, a civilian computer contractor for the Grand Forks Air Force Base, and retired as a statistician for NAPE Testing for the State of North Dakota.
