MEN'S HOCKEY: Gophers fall to Mankato
Freshman forward Brett Knowles scored on a rebound with 44 seconds left to play to lift visiting Minnesota State-Mankato to a 2-1 win over top-ranked Minnesota on Friday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Knowles flicked in a rebound over sprawling goalie Adam Wilcox, and MSUM goalie Stephon Williams stopped several shots in the closing seconds to preserve the win.By: Associated Press, Grand Forks Herald
