He was third son of Abram R. and Vaughn (Owens) King born in Sidney Nebraska on July 24, 1927. Both parents were natives of Cando, North Dakota. After the family returned to Cando, Louie attended school there from first grade through his freshmen year of high school. He played and lettered in both football and basketball at Cando High School and was an active member of the Methodist Church.

Louis King, C'47 passed away at a rehab center at Markeson, Wisconsin on Saturday, January 5, 2013 after suffering a massive heart attack and multiple strokes.He was third son of Abram R. and Vaughn (Owens) King born in Sidney Nebraska on July 24, 1927.
