Mona Marie Baril was born to Arthur and Mayme (Clement) Baril on August 15, 1928 at Red Lake Falls, Minnesota. She was raised and educated at Red Lake Falls. She graduated from Moorhead State College with a degree in Education. She was employed as a teacher, a secretary for the School of Nursing, St. Michael’s Hospital, a bookkeeper and personnel director at Sears, and also several jobs through AARP. Mona and James LaBonte were united in marriage on August 21, 1950.
