Phyllis Elaine Burud was born on February 16, 1934 the daughter of Edwin and Margarette (Anderson) Burud in Canby, MN. She lived and was educated in Bemidji, MN. On June 1, 1952, Phyllis married Truman Sundeen. They made their home in Grand Forks, ND. Phyllis spent her early years working for J.C. Penney's in downtown Grand Forks. In 1980 Phyllis went to work for American Crystal Sugar in Hillsboro, ND. She would work for Crystal Sugar for the next 28 year until her retirement in 2008.
