Violence against children drives tribal whistleblower
Betty Jo Krenz can’t forget the desperate faces and voices she came to know while working with Head Start and foster-care children at Spirit Lake Nation. She is one of a small but vocal group of people who have been reporting alleged gaps in the child protection and welfare programs on this Dakota Sioux reservation in northeast North Dakota.
