Minnesota Guard team gets tour extension; N.D. soldiers unaffected'
WASHINGTON - The Pentagon wants to add 92,000 soldiers and Marines to beef up military forces badly strained by the grinding war in Iraq, officials said Thursday, as congressional Democrats, joined by a surprising number of Republicans, lambasted the Bush administration's plans to increase U.S. troop levels in Baghdad by 21,500.
