Was ‘Sybil’ a case of mistaken identity?
Was one of the world’s most famous medical cases a mistake? Or, worse yet, a hoax? The medical records for Sybil — who really was Shirley Mason, a native of Dodge Center, Minn. — were sealed until she died in 1998.
