Remembering Phelan: Family and friends recall family's legacy in Grafton

When friends and family pay their respects to Margaret Cashel Phelan, they’ll also be bidding farewell to the family of one of the community’s founders. Margaret Phelan, 93, was the granddaughter of John L. Cashel Sr., a local farmer and banker who was a member of the Walsh County Commission in 1881, when the town of Grafton was incorporated as a city.
