HEALTH MATTERS: Given advice for leaking heart valves seems appropriate
Q. I have mitral and tricuspid valve regurgitation, rated 2+ to 3+. This seems quite serious to me, but my doctor has told me that it will be fine. Because I also have lots of skipped beats, I had a full cardiac workup last year, including an echocardiogram and a stress test. I have been told to lose weight, have an echo every year for the rest of my life, and another stress test in five years. Does this advice seem appropriate?By: Dr. Joshua Wynne , Grand Forks Herald
