TRAVEL: Mayflower II, Indian Village are worthwhile viewsAdmission to Plimoth Plantation includes two related but somewhat time-fudging attractions: the Mayflower II downtown, and the Indian Village, on the Plantation grounds. Mayflower II is a ship built in the 1950s to emulate as closely as possible the ship the Pilgrims took to the New World in 1620, returned to Europe and eventually vanished from history. Subtract seven years from the Plantation time frame and go aboard. The captain, Christopher Jones, is no big fan of what he did this on voyage: He’s used to conveying cargo, not religious refugees, and the character portraying him makes that abundantly clear.
