I am very irritated with the comments going on here. Many of you are disgusted by the behavior at the Ralph, and then proceed to call each other names. Would you say those things to the other person's face? I certainly expect not. Do not talk about the lack of respect by students. Read your own comments. I am embarassed by this discussion. You want class, then think before you type.

We're all taxpayers contributing to the university and therefore to the sports teams. Therefore everyone deserves to have a civil environment to watch the game once they pay more tax in the form of a ticket.

how about this...every time the students start a chant with vulgar language, we take a row of their seats away starting with the bottom row...maybe then they will learn to respect others and the game.

The game is here for the kids just as much, if not more, as it is for the adults. Be loud, be creative, but leave the f bomb out of it.

Do some of you people understand what you're doing when you attend a Sioux hockey game? You are going to a COLLEGE SPORTING EVENT...not the opera or to church, or to a ritsy titsy event center where it's important for others to see you there because then they'll think you have $ because you have tickets. You are going to a CAMPUS, where the COLLEGE kids are playing a rowdy game and the COLLEGE kids are going to be there to support their COLLEGE! For God's sake, stay home if you don't like the atmosphere. Maybe us true Sioux hockey fans should have a meeting about how we can make the boring coffee drinkers with their underwear on too tight cheer MORE!

To set a good example, UND shouldgive all the students who watch tennis and golf the tickets for hockey. Then we could all join a rousing round of shhhh. It's a fast paced, world class collision sport with history and tradition. It's great and should not change.

Everyone is overlooking a solution that is already used I believe in some sport settings. The on-ice officials should be able to give the home team a penalty if the crowd is being a problem. As I said in an earlier post when I was almost hit by a whiskey bottle thrown out of the upper deck in Denver in a game in 68 the Pioneers should have been given a crowd penalty There is no way you could identify individuals clearly enough to kick specific people but a penalty for obscene chants would stop them quicker than any other remedy.

Todd B. - so you're saying that three people, who apparently were inebriated, are your basis for how ALL Fighting Sioux fans act at a game? I guess I don't care if you come back to the REA, let alone the area, if that's the case...because you are obviously ignorant and feel it appropriate to judge 10,000+ fans by the actions of 3 of them. Classy.

Take a stand students! Do exactly what Scott says: attend but do not participate at all; that would legitimize your position as the general public would see how important the student body really is! tough to coordinate but someone step up!

Should be pretty entertaining in 2 weeks when the student section starts getting harassed by the morbidly obese of america when they start chanting "husky women" like they do every year. The f word chants should stop, without a doubt. But what's next? I dare all the UND students to go to the game in plain clothes, stand for the national anthem, and then just sit and watch the game without cheering or clapping at all. see what kind of response that generates, see what kind of meetings get arranged out of that.
