BOYS HOCKEY: Green Wave find themselves in the rare position of underdog 
The East Grand Forks Senior High boys hockey team finds itself in a unique position. The Green Wave rarely have been the underdog this season and never by this much of a margin. It’s a role Senior High coach Tyler Palmiscno is telling his team to embrace.

In a mismatch of experience, East Grand Forks Senior High was making its first Minnesota state boys hockey tournament appearance since 2002, while Rochester Lourdes was playing in its fifth consecutive state tournament. The Green Wave, though, proved to belong at the Minnesota prep sports’ signature event.

Grand Forks man takes softball games to New Zealand 
The spring trip to New Zealand isn’t a vacation for Grand Forks’ Gerald Muizelaar. The 38-year-old is one of the best fastpitch softball pitchers in the world and will compete with Team USA at the ISF World Softball Championships in Auckland, New Zealand.

In what’s become the norm for the UND men’s hockey team, Magness Arena had just as much North Dakota green as Denver Pioneer maroon on Friday night in the series opener between the two teams.
