Two forums on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, popularly known as “Obamacare,” and what it means for the region will be held in Grand Forks Thursday.
One will be at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
Panelists include representatives from Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, Grand Forks County Social Services, Valley Community Health Centers, Altru Health System and Medicare and Medicaid, according to organizers.

Organizers include Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals and Grand Forks Public Health.
The other forum will be at a public meeting of the Highway 2 West Manufacturers’ Association at 12:15 p.m. at Applied Products, 917 S. 46th St.
Panelists at that event include BCBS, Mercer Health and Benefits and MNsure.

The Affordable Care Act would, among other things, create a health insurance exchange to help consumers find more affordable options and require Americans to have health insurance. The federal exchange begins accepting enrollment on Oct. 1.
