Lloyd Rivard

Lloyd Rivard, 89, Warren, MN, formerly of Argyle, MN and Grand Forks, ND, passed away Tuesday evening, February 19, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN.

Lloyd was born on January 4, 1924 in Bigwoods Township, Marshall County, MN, the son of Fred and Eva (Bergeron) Rivard. He graduated from Oslo High School. On October 22, 1946, Lloyd married Dorothy Narlock in Warsaw, ND. They made their home by Oslo before moving by Argyle where he farmed. After he retired, they moved to Grand Forks, ND. They spent many winters in Arizona.

Lloyd Rivard, 89, Warren, MN, formerly of Argyle, MN and Grand Forks, ND, passed away Tuesday evening, February 19, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN.

On October 22, 1946, Lloyd married Dorothy Narlock in Warsaw, ND. They made their home by Oslo before moving by Argyle where he farmed. After he retired, they moved to Grand Forks, ND. They spent many winters in Arizona.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a Eucharistic Minister. Lloyd was also a board member of the Argyle Co-op Warehouse Association.

Lloyd loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing pool, gardening, traveling and fishing at Lake of the Woods.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Dorothy of Warren, MN; seven children, Allen (Jan) Rivard of White Bear Lake, MN, Linda (Ron) Rasmussen of Bloomington, MN, Beverly (Gary) Johnson of Grand Forks, ND, Gary (Becky) Rivard of Alvarado, MN, Patrick (Mary) Rivard of Tiburon, CA, Lori Bazey (Don Hillesland) of Grand Forks, ND and Timothy (Julie) Rivard of Argyle, MN; nineteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Duane (Agraphine) Rivard of Lehigh, FL and William (Judy) Rivard of Grand Forks, ND and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Mae Pilon and Winnifred Osowski.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle, MN.

VISITATION: After 5:30 PM with a 6:30 PM Rosary and 6:45 PM Prayer Service on Monday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.

INTERMENT: St. Rose Cemetery, Argyle, MN.
