Three local health officials will be presenting “Tuberculosis on the Great Plains: The Grand Forks epidemic” from 12 to 1 p.m. Feb. 21 in the Clifford Lecture Hall at UND’s School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
One of the largest outbreaks in the state, the disease spread through a network involving multiple households and contacts. A total 16 people currently have TB and 45 more are being treated with daily medication therapy.
The public is invited to attend the free session, which provides an overview of ongoing activities, including disease surveillance, testing, medication and post-hospital support.
