Doris Leona Matteson

Doris Leona Matteson was born October 8, 1922 in Oslo, MN to parents Oscar and Cora Lofthus. Doris passed away peacefully at home in Bellingham, WA o February 5, 2013 with family nearby. Doris and Ronald Matteson were married in 1943 in Grand Forks, ND. They worked and lived on the family farm near Gilby/Inkster, ND for many years before moving to Bellingham, WA and enjoyed living in their condo at Cordata Village. Doris is survived by husband, Ronald and two daughters, Sandra Gerber (Steve), and Gayle Steinke (Don), four grandchildren; Kirsten Kraushaar (Brad), Lane Gerber (Jen), Tara Steinke, Matthew Steinke and five great granddaughters; Zoe, Mycah, Devi, Lexi, and Mya. “Nana” will be forever remembered in our hearts. A memorial reception is planned for a future time. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice House, 2800 Douglas Ave. Bellingham, WA 98225.
