Hugo’s Family Marketplace has purchased land around its north Grand Forks store.
Company President Kristi Magnuson-Nelson said the supermarket chain acquired the lot at 1205 N. 20th St., west of the store at 20th and 13th Avenue North, as well as property north of the store.
Hugo’s plans to use the building on the west lot as a maintenance shop and warehouse, Magnuson-Nelson said. The north lot has the former Schumacher Tire building, which Hugo’s plans to demolish to increase its store’s visibility from Gateway Drive.
Magnuson-Nelson said the chain is not planning to expand at the location, but, “It is nice to own if we ever have expansion needs.”
