Elsie (Gulbranson) Skavlem

August 1, 1922 – January 24, 2013

God called Elsie Myrtle (Gulbranson) Skavlem, 90, home on January 24, 2013. She is at peace after suffering with Alzheimer’s for many years. She was born on August 1, 1922 in East Grand Forks, MN. She married William Skavlem (from Oslo, MN) in 1941; they moved to Tacoma in 1951. He preceded her in death in 2007.

God called Elsie Myrtle (Gulbranson) Skavlem, 90, home on January 24, 2013. She is at peace after suffering with Alzheimer’s for many years. She was born on August 1, 1922 in East Grand Forks, MN. She married William Skavlem (from Oslo, MN) in 1941; they moved to Tacoma in 1951. He preceded her in death in 2007.

She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Tacoma, and enjoyed picnics, family get togethers, square dancing, cards, and visiting her many friends.

She is survived by children Diane (Roy) Erdahl, Denise Cramer and Roger (Patti) Skavlem; grandchildren Sheila (Leon) Kolschefski, Rod Erdahl, Naomi Erdahl, Eric Cramer and Andy Austin, six great grandchildren, brothers Iner (Arlene) Gulbranson and Maynard (Esther) Gulbranson, and sisters-in-law Gladys Filipi and Mabel Gunderson, and brother-in-law Andrew Skavlem.

Funeral service will be 2 pm Jan. 31, 2013 in the Mountain View Valley Chapel, Tacoma, WA. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
