Altru leads United Way giving
Altru Health System contributed a total of $129,366 to the United Way 2013 campaign, the largest contribution in Grand Forks, according to Altru.
Altru physicians, staff, and retirees donated to United Way to support charities and community projects, Altru said.
“I am very proud of the generosity of our staff. It was fun to see their excitement and eagerness to give back to our community,” said Renee Axtman, Altru’s employee campaign chairwoman and a United Way board member.
First Care Health Center receives grant
First Care Health Center in Park River, N.D., received a $7,540 grant through the Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program (SHIP). The grant will be used to help pay vendor fees for consumer satisfaction surveys and for a subscription to online quality-related software.
The hospital uses the Health Care SafetyZone Portal, which allows providers to electronically capture incident report data to review and benchmark with other small and rural facilities in North Dakota.
The purpose of SHIP program is to support rural hospitals in providing care to rural residents and to fund financial studies designed to help with complex health care billing, coding and reimbursement processes.
